Bel Canto Vowel Page By Joel Newman
Vowels and what the 'form' looks like.
(In technique, after our breath, we 'flash' to the vowel of the word sung
and get off the consonant fast as lighting, unless you want to lick an
"L" etc for artistic effect..)
Ah - as in the word 'father' and 'all'
Oh - as in the word 'low', 'gold', etc.
Ee - as in the word 'free', 'me', etc.
Oo - as in the word 'shoe', through', etc.
This technique is based on 'Oh'. Oh is the darkest
vowel, Ee is the brightest, Oo is the hightest, Ah is the most natural.
There are exceptions as well as manifestations of some vowels, (i.e.; 'ih'
is a manifestation of 'ee')
